About
Let me preface my opinions and thoughts with this: I might be wrong. I may have been misinformed. I will most likely make a fool of myself at some point or another. It comes with the job of being outspoken.
However:
I am trying to make a positive difference. Before you point your finger and scoff, make sure that you can you say the same of yourself, or your criticism will not be taken seriously.
My name is Anne. Life has found me to be a self motivated entrepreneur type (although procrastination has it’s place). I graduated with a B.S. when I was 18. I’d like to think I’ve personally impacted at least a few of my friends and inspired them to make some sort of great change in their lives. I have always been interested in helping those who are less fortunate than myself. I have always been interested in becoming a better person.
Like any average Joe, I like the idea of driving a fancy sports car and owning a beautiful home. Realistically I’ll be satisfied if I can make rent this month and maintain a decent credit score. I’d like to pay off my student loans sooner than later.
I save, I splurge. I am not always very smart when it comes to money. However, when a buddy of mine needs some change I am there with everything I can spare.
I actually hate politics. I don’t think I’ll ever truly understand the beast that is politics. I watch and I form opinions based on what I’ve heard. Sometimes those opinions change when I hear new ideas. Sometimes they don’t.
All of this to say that I’m not perfect.
No one is perfect.
But for the love of whatever it is you hold dear, if you’re going to complain about the world today and everything that is happening with your country, then get off your ass and do something! I am SICK of it. SICK. When did you stop learning to think for yourself? If you cried out for change, how dare you sit on your ass and do nothing different. I risk quoting some famous guy, but BE THE CHANGE YOU SEEK.
Make your own change. You’re sick of your living conditions? Then move, make a change, try to improve the situation in some way. Either that, or shut up. Maybe you should go try living somewhere worse for a week and move back in. You may appreciate what you have a bit more.
Make your own change. You think you’re not being paid enough? Get a different job, ask for a raise, go and actually evaluate the value of the skill you’re performing because maybe it’s time you found a higher paying career. Try to improve your situation. Quit complaining about it and just do it. It’s true, sometimes we have to work through rough patches. Deal with those accordingly.
Make your own change. You have a terrible relationship with your parents and they make your life miserable? Make amends, be the bigger person, ask them how you can resolve the situation. Do something to rectify everything that you can, and it’s no longer on your shoulders. Quit bitching about it. Fix what you can now.
Be creative, how does this concept apply to you? Your community? When was the last time you helped out a friend, or even just a stranger? Ever think you might feel better about yourself if you actually did something nice for a change?
What are you waiting for? Go and make your change. This country can’t fix itself without you.
